Your Generosity

Your donation empowers the Vestal community. Vestal is part of the City of Knoxville empowerment zone due to its poverty level, unemployment rate, poor housing conditions and low educational levels. Vestal is a community with both rural and urban characteristics and celebrates its own history with the Knoxville area. The once-a-year springtime fundraising event is known as “VESTIVAL”. Vestival supports diverse musical genres for the general public with emphasis on the citizens of the Vestal community. The totality of Vestival events includes, in addition to music…
  • local arts and crafts vendors
  • food vendors
  • children’s activities
  • a Mother’s Day brunch
  • an art exhibit
  • a local history exhibit
  • old-fashioned cake walks
The Candoro Marble building, in the height of its grandeur, was the site of a major employer that crafted and polished marble stonework used in several local and national structures. Though most of the outbuildings remain in ruins, people enjoy exploring the grounds, eating great food, and envisioning a bright future when Candoro Marble and the Vestal community are both restored to their former glory. Your donation to Candoro is the perfect way to honor the legacy and lifetime of Albert Milani who crafted marble for decades at Candoro Marble Company.

The Space

The space is a fittingly elegant venue for hosting events. It is the perfect space for events that are under 100 guests. Consider holding an off-site corporate meeting at Candoro. The beautiful building and grounds are great for a small wedding. Think about using Candoro Marble as a space to teach a course. The rooms and lighting are just right for an art or history exhibit. The Candoro building and its shaded grounds are now available for rental at affordable prices. Please call Sharon at 865-640-5700 for more information.

Locals are enjoying the life drawing courses that are held at Candoro Marble. Today, art and art-related themes are the underpinning for all the creative goings-on at Candoro Marble’s main building. It is a setting that unites the power of art and the beauty of architecture.

Anyone who has an educative spirit will enjoy a visit to Candoro. It is a great place for walking around and taking in the feel and the spirit of the marble craftsmen who once held marble finishing jobs for over five decades. At this point in time, there is considerable support among Knoxville citizens about the future of Candoro Arts and Heritage Center. The goal has been to re-purpose Candoro as a place to enrich the lives of local citizens and reach out to the Knoxville population at large about revitalizing the Vestal neighborhood.

Candoro Arts & Heritage Center is a nonprofit organization with a mission to assist in the improvement and development of South Knoxville…specifically working to:
